Mindfulness, climate protection & sustainable travelling
Do you really have to travel far to get away from it all? And search long and hard to find a place to unwind - in the middle of nature?
As soon as the idea for Raus was born, we realised that we wanted to have an impact. That we wanted to think about nature tourism in a sustainable way and contribute to re-establishing a (re)connection to nature within our society, its effects on our well-being and its role in the fight against climate change.
For us, sustainable travelling is an ongoing process, a journey on which we are always learning something new. On this page you can read all about our projects and ideas to be part of the change. To make a growing contribution to a conscious, attentive and considerate approach to our planet, ourselves and the resources available to us.

How do we think about sustainable travel at Raus?
Regenerative agriculture
Did you know that 1/4 of all global greenhouse gas emissions come from agriculture - more than from air travel, car traffic & building use combined? It's high time to act!
At Raus, we are committed to regenerative agriculture and have found a strong partner in Klim to make a difference. Together, we support farmers in taking measures to build healthy, living soils that absorb carbon and at the same time increase biodiversity, climate resilience and the nutrient storage capacity of the soil. To do this, we obtain so-called CO2 certificates from Klim, which are TÜV-certified and prove that our contribution is used for agricultural methods to reduce CO2 in our atmosphere.
Is regional climate protection also important to you? Then this is your chance to make your very own contribution with €5. When you book with Raus, you can choose to add the amount to your shopping basket. We will double your donation so that you'll regenerate 1,000 square metres of soil with your stay (about 50 times the area of one cabin)!

Our reforestation project
Our forests are under climate stress - drought, storms, heat, forest fires and pests are the reason why four out of five trees are sick. One solution to this is climate-appropriate forest reorganisation, i.e. reforesting forests with different tree species instead of relying on monocultures. There are many of these in Germany, as they were long considered to be more productive for forestry. However, it is now clear that mixed forests are more robust, store more CO2, promote biodiversity and good soil and even provide better drinking water. All of which is why we planted our own mixed forest with 2,000 trees at Raus in February 2023!
We teamed up with Benedikt Bösel from Gut & Bösel. The organic farmer and forest owner from Brandenburg and his team are researching the methods in which forests need to be reorganised so that they are climate-resilient and perform particularly well from an ecological as well as economic perspective.
